Thrivent Action Grant Mission Project
Thrivent has action grants that provide start-up funds for a community mission project. Dubs Church received an action grant to conduct a Diaper Drive for parents who struggle to provide necessities for babies. In addition to diapers, adult incontinent products will be collected to support adults in the community. Collected items will be delivered to the Hanover Area Council of Churches to support their efforts in the community.
Church World Services Bucket Project
Church World Services provides cleanup buckets to aid in the recovery of anyone in the US who has been affected by flooding, tornado, or other natural disaster. Buckets include supplies such as sponges, scrub brushes, liquid dish soap, and trash bags. Local churches, like St. Paul’s assist CWS by providing and filling buckets. St. Paul’s leadership has agreed to become involved in this project and deliver the filled buckets to the Church World Services warehouse in New Windsor, Md.
Youth Ministry Mission Trip
Youth and adults from St. Paul’s (Dubs) Church, under the leadership of Group Workcamps, plan an annual mission trip. The group works on home repair projects such as roofing, painting, building wheelchair-accessible ramps, and building porches. Planning for the following year begins in early Fall and anyone is invited to participate. Stay tuned for future Mission Trip opportunities.
Monthly Financial Ministries
Each month, the United Church of Christ denomination within St. Paul’s collects offerings for specific ministries such as the Hanover Area Council of Churches, local seminaries, Hoffman Homes for Youth, Church World Service, UCC 5-for-5 campaigns, and church ministries.
Christmas Blessing Express of New Hope Ministries
New Hope Ministries is a service organization that serves those in our local community who are experiencing a time of need. During the Holiday season, donations are collected at the church to assist in caring for our neighbors. The HOPE is that each recipient will find comfort and peace at Christmas and be able to enjoy the love of family and friends.
We believe that God calls us to be servants in the service of others and to be good stewards of the earth’s resources. “To believe is to care; to care is to do.”
